Alcove fitting with a hinged double door where one of which has a fixed part
The alcove fixture consists of a folding door and a fixed wall into which hinged folding door has been attached. The product is well-suited for a shower enclosure where doors do not have the space to properly open outwards and on the other side of which the space is also cramped on the inside of the shower area. Folding door does not require space for opening from outside the shower area but instead folds into the small space inside the shower area in the direction of the building wall. The fixed wall can be dimensioned according to the fixtures (e.g. the mixer) inside the shower area so that the door does not hit the fixtures when being folded. Doors can be dimensioned symmetrically or so that the doors are of different sizes. When the shower is not in use, the door can be turned in the direction of the building walls.
Doors rotate 90 degrees in both directionsand are equipped with adjustable centring. The centring attempts to return the door back to the open and closed positions. In addition, the outermost panels turn in relation to the innermost panels so that the panels of the doors fold against each other to the internal side of the shower area. A magnet seal keeps the door tightly closed during showering.
Shower wall and door are attached to the walls of the building from the sides by means of wall mountedprofiles. The fixed wall is supported from the top edge by the brace bar installed in the corner and from the bottom corner by the fitting glued to the floor. There will be a 25mm gap between the panel and the floor of the fixed wall. A seal (standard part) may be installed between the panel and the floor in order to prevent water from flowing under the panel. The profiles mounted to the edges of the panel are manufactured of aluminium. The white (RAL 9016) and black (RAL 9005) surface treatment options are manufactured by powder coating. Grey and bright are anodized coatings. Profiles are sandblasted before anodization, so that the surface is as smooth as possible and there will be no fingerprints. The fittings used in the product, like square foot and brace bars, are made of brass alloy and correspond with the chosen profile color. White and black profiles have white or black painted fittings, grey and bright profiles have chrome plated fittings.
The product is manufactured from a 6mm thick clear tempered safety panel (EN 12150). The safety panel can be treated in the factory with a Cranith calcification prevention coating. The coating enables the panel to stay clean easier.
The size of the alcove fitting can be selected from the standard sizes or it can be manufactured using custom dimensions. The wall mounted profiles have the total of 35mm adjustment tolerance The adjustment tolerance can be used for levelling any tilt in the building s walls as well as for accommodating the alcove fitting into the installation opening. For the purposes of accommodating the fitting into the opening, one or more extension profiles (optional accessory). One extension profile extends the width of the alcove fitting by 34mm and it can be grooved for example for the inlet of the surface water pipes.

The product is supplied as standard with a 33 mm high floor seal. The optional accessories are a 50 mm high floor seal for shower areas where the floor tilting is higher than normal. The length of the floor seal is 1000 mm and it is cut to a suitable length on site. The watertight quality of the product can be improved by installing a step profile under the door. The step profile is cut into a suitable length on the side and glued to the floor. The height of a shaped step profile is 10 mm and its width is 16 mm.
